Hoy agradezco la oportunidad de haber asistido a la Ceremonia académica del doctorado en psicología aplicada de la UADY, donde se reconoció el compromiso social y el trabajo de nuestra generación, y que reafirmó la importancia de contribuir desde la evidencia, la ética y el servicio. En lo personal, fue un momento para aceptar las experiencias de los últimos cuatro años de estudio y para agradecer a las amistades de generación, que sin su apoyo esto no hubiese sido posible.

“Mérida, Yucatán, a 13 de septiembre de 2025.- En el marco del Día Mundial para la Prevención del Suicidio, la Facultad de Medicina de la Universidad Autónoma de Yucatán (UADY) organizó la conferencia “Claves para detectar y actuar ante el riesgo suicida”, impartida por el Psic. Yonathan Abdias Pech Muñoz, un evento que reunió a estudiantes, docentes y personal universitario para discutir señales de alerta, mitos frecuentes y estrategias concretas de intervención.
El experto inició desarrollando varios mitos comunes sobre la conducta suicida, señalando que muchas veces pensamos “lo dijo, pero no lo está pensando realmente” o “si alguien quisiera hacerlo ya lo habría intentado”; sin embargo, esto es una conclusión errónea que puede impedir brindar ayuda oportuna.
Insistió en que los cambios en una persona, rara vez son completamente súbitos sin señales previas y que las expresiones, a veces no verbales y las modificaciones en conducta deben leerse como posibles avisos que permitan acercarse y ofrecer apoyo…”
